    Isnt prosumer better?

I am still a prosumer user (s3is), then bought a dslr afterwards. They have their pros and cons. Based one personal experience 1. prosumer is small. For family outing or just about any kodak moments. 2. dSLR is big and bulky. I use this for special/important events where all I need to...

    A Spider Story

It looks good IMO, not the best but good. The story kept me looking all the way to the end of the series. As I've said before, you've gone a long way... keep on shooting, improvement will naturally follow too. also, keep in mind that you can't make everybody happy. shoot what you want and...

    Singma or Tamron Macro?

90mm tamron is a good choice. I have it. :) IQ is good and not expensive either. 90mm + body - ext flash is good for hand held macro shooting. working distance may be a problem sometimes. Just had a butterfly macro session with some T180 and nikkor 200mm f4 guys. It was really a...

    close-up with my s3is

Photo is not cropped. The cam is set to AP @ f8.0 I tried the built-in flash but the background is dark. I saw tons of DIY diffusers for the s3is and will make one for myself. thanks for the tips.

    d80 + 90mm tamron + ext tube test @ SBG

rongxike, Hi I use manual focus when doing macro, the reason is because of what you just said. Small camera movement is very evident when doing macro. So I suggest using custom timer or used remote. And yes.. this lens is great.. it's sharp and cheap. Goodluck mate.

Better Macro for Nikkon 80-200 f2.8

    a. it will work, you'll get acceptable results. Nothing PS can't handle but don't overdo it. I currently have this rig. :-) It's big, it's heavy and you need a tripod. b. the dcr-250 is too small for 80-200mm. you may want to try out the affordable dedicated macro lens tamron 90mm 2.8...

    Singapore's First Cable Ski Park

try to lower the shutter speed to atleast 1/50 or 1/40. This will make it more difficult. But if you get your subject spot on, the result is really nice. I've done quite a lot of panning shots with both the 18-70mm and 18-135mm, and the results are ok. Neways, your shot is really good and...

    VR or f2.8

If I were to choose, I'd go for the 2.8. Sold my 55-200mm VR for an 80-200mm f2.8. One of the reason is already given, low light... VR will eliminate handshake but might not freeze the subject. But if you can get the VR + 2.8 better. :) now repeat after me... VR + 2.8... VR +...

How to increase shutter speed with SB600?

FP = Flash Plane? d80: this enables you to set the shutter to a faster speed. I usually use this for fill-in flash and keep the aperture wide open. d70s: the fastest for this guy i think is 1/500. The cam has to be in "M" mode to be able to do this IIRC. HTH.

    d80 + 90mm tamron + ext tube test @ SBG

thanks. Was a bit conservative on my last PP. very minimal adjustments done.. but that's not an excuse. Need to be more consistent.. anyways, thanks for all your c&c. very well noted
