SBS bus driver kicks me out and . . .

The driver should have told him there and then that he needs to pay full fare if that's the regulation. The way it happened it was bad handling on the part of the driver, she should be dealt with disciplinary action. TS must report this incident immediately to the operations manager at the interchange.

Quite true also. Throwing him off the bus in the middle of his way, then expect TS to do what? Neither at the destination nor at the point of origin, if TS lost or encountered robber how? There should some human face on top just strictly rules and regulations.

OT abit but still on SBS bus drivers.

I've seen a bus driver demanded that a student pay a full adult fare. The kid did not have her student pass with her but was wearing a school uniform, seriously sometimes, I wonder why we have to rule with such an iron fist......

Perhaps SBS should release the video footage from the CCTV of that bus. That way, the truth will come to light.

according to SBS customer officer, CCTV is only used in emergency . wtf? :dunno:

I don't think you should do that.

Below is from SBS Transit: Children & Students

There is no indication you can pay in the way you did, by just showing your student ID only.

let me make this clear, i took that bus to my destination or further from yishun like a dozen time. i never encounter this problem until today. and i always pay $1 if i my ezlink card has no money.

ok , lets say(if have no money in my ezlink ) i took that bus to my destination from yishun 12 times, all 11 different drivers they let me pass with a $1 trip and sometimes request me to produce my ID and i did without hesitation.

but this 1 driver today , i put in $1 like every normal day i take the bus, but she didnt ask for my ID so i dont bother , its not my duty to ask what, she is the one working , its her duty to ask. i pay money and i still need me to ask if she want to look at my ID ? not as if im working for SBS. if so , next time i might as well paste my ID on my forehead everytime i take the bus.

so you tell me , who is wrong who is right . The 11 drivers or the 1 driver .

why didnt the 11 drivers kick me out as well ? or ask me to pay extra to my destination.

True, the driver is quite impolite. However, the matter of fact is, I don't remember the current rules allow us to pay just by showing the student ID. If TS broke the rules, then the bus driver has every right to ask him get off the bus unless he pay correct fare.

well the matter of fact IS , she is working in the SERVICE line , is that how you going to treat commuters like that ? what if other foreigner from other country see how a bus driver treat a commuter? is this what SBS is promoting kindness with all the bull$hit posters around the bus?

...
why didnt the 11 drivers kick me out as well ? or ask me to pay extra to my destination.

It may just be the drivers you had encountered were willing to let it go.

If you indeed broke the rule, breaking it 10, 100 or 1000 times does not mean there is no rule. :nono:

by right , WHY didnt she ask when i board the bus ?

isit my job to ask her if i m required to produce? :dunno:

The more I read your replies, the more I am concern the way you were dealing the situation.

If your logic is correct, then I shouldn't need to show the ticket for entry of movies/concert/or-whatever, if kena caught, then I can just shout back, "is not my fault what, because you did not ask to show in the 1st place". Does this make sense to you?

so is it my fault that i didn't know that the actual fare was $1.80 ?

well the 11 drivers are more than willing to let it go when the smiled and nod their head.

how come the 11 drivers never warn me or remind me? only that 1 driver out of all the 11 times i took kick me out. this shows how SBS is not strict with their drivers so i need an answer by their management. cause at that point of time its hard to believe out of the majority 11 drivers i took , the minority kick me out.

ok let me make this clear, u pay for a bus trip, EITHER using ezlink card or Cash.

so if i were to pay by cash, is there a NEED for me to use my ezlink card to pay again? as i know i have insufficient money left in the card.

I guess you've missed his point. Its a matter of whether you have showed the bus driver your student ez-Link card when you first board the bus or not. I had thought that it was a practice to show the student ez-Link card in order to enjoy travel concession.

Putting in $1 for the bus fare without producing your student ez-Link is akin paying $1 adult fare where you're only allowed to take limited stops. Of course the way that driver handled the situation was unacceptable and certainly deserves some disciplinary action.

okay . understand already. maybe my part of not showing is my bad.

but throwing me off the bus. :nono:

Like what others have suggested, take down the bus license plate number, time and where did the incident take place.

Of course, I guess the outcome is usually predictable, and that's "the bus captain has been sent for counselling already".

i pity you. When i dont bring ez link, its only 55 cents. I normally get away with 50 cents...

And...i never had to show my student pass. Regardless wearing uniform or not. Only trouble i had with drivers was with one super kp one that insisted i cough up with 5 more cents when the only other coin i had was a 50 cent coin...

I think the onus of responsibility is for you to ask how much was the fare in the absence of an EZ link card. And if you're paying student fare, you need to automatically show the pass (whether if asked or not). You might wish to clarify this procedure with SBS policies.

The last driver was wrong to kick you out (poor management).
Maybe the 11 bus drivers perhaps were also in the wrong for not following SBS procedures on actual fare payment? :dunno: Or they were just keeping quiet intentionally so that when you meet the 12th driver, you get screwed?

I think its really a matter of the driver's mood...

i think its just wrong...

haha... how come so many crazy things happening in singapore these last months..

hmmm but on your part you could have handled it better at the scene... then after that lodge a complaint.. although you will need hard evidence..

Did i miss it somewhere, how old is TS?

And by student do you mean Secondary student? JC student? Poly student? or Uni student? and you were going for work?

its ur duty to show that u r a student n u r paying concession price for the ride.
the other 11 should have their butts kick for not kicking u out.

as u said in ur first post, its funny.
its funny that u r a student n u have to work the whole day.
school holidays liao meh?

if the driver were to post here saying that she kicked a cheat off the bus,
the same cheeky fellow who cheated the other 11 drivers,
i believed everyone would be cheering for her.

btw, from the tone of ur reply above,
i m all for the driver.

what is the point of ur statement?
that u cheated n get away with it?

whose fault is it when u didn't bring ur fare card?
n not once but many times.

did u return SBS the multiple 5cents that u always didn't have it with u when u do have it?

school seems to forgo education for academic results,
if TS n u r the norm rather than exception.
