Hi all,

I just used my Canon 300D to do some long exposure night shots ( 5secs, 8secs, etc ). However, I did notice a number of hot pixels in the pics, esp in the dark skies.
Now, since DSLR doesn't have in-camera noise reduction function ( or is there? ), how do I then remove these hot pixels.

If I have to use sw like photoshop, what should I do?

Thanks for helping me, a newbie in DSLR! =)

there's in-camera noise reduction function. if not, you'll see a lot more noise.

you could do a darkframe deduction using software. take a pic immediately after the pic at the same duration with the lens cap covered. subtract this pic from the original pic and fill in the "blanks".

I've tried a few hot pixel remover software. My favourite is PixelZap . However, it's shareware.

I've also tried darkframe subtraction software. However, I find that they tend to leave "black holes" where the hot pixels used to be.
