Hi, i hear there is a skypier in HKIA where there is turbojet transfer you to macau directly. I wonder if i fly in from Singapore, can i buy a ferry ticket immediately without pasting thru HKG immigration and go to skypier and take a ferry to Macau. Has anyone try this service before?
hey I did that last year as a junket guest of the Venetian... very easy but NOT round the clock service....a rep from casino escorted and arranged everything for us..... however I did look around to see how to do this on my own next time
Immediately when you get off the plane..... look for transit signs .... signboard says "FERRY TRANSFER DESK" with the icon of a boat
When you get to the ferry counter, buy your ticket AND GIVE THEM YOUR CHECK-IN BAGGAGE TAGS ... they will get your luggage from the luggage carousel assigned to your arriving flight. If you dont do that your luggage will be stuck in HKIA as unclaimed luggage
Buy ferry ticket HK$180 i think .... Get on ferry...... and go.....
Arrive in Macau.... go through Immigration .... and go to luggage carousel to pick up your checked in luggage and grab cab or courtesy bus to your hotel (we were provided a courtesy van Toyota Estima for our party of 6..... hop in the MPV... they check passports and give room keys to us before we even arrived at Venetian ... very very good)
My estimated timing was 2hours when the plane touched down to the moment we laid down our first bet on the Poker table....and 1hr 45mins if you start the stopwatch the moment we step foot off the plane....in HKIA ...... cannot beat that.... unless you take helicopter service ( we were not THAT VIP) ha ha
TIP : Once you exit Macau immigration..... IF you are going straight to one of the MAJOR casinos...... there are FREE coach transfers..... taxi is not cheap in Macau so this can save you money .... you DO NOT need to be staying in their resort or hotel (they just hope you go there and gamble) and no commitments to even gamble.... Venetian has this service plus MANY MANY other major casino hotels.....look for the Bus Stops AT RIGHT SIDE once you step out of immigration building and choose the FREE bus to the particular hotel you want to go to.... so DONT WASTE MONEY taking taxi.... can bring your luggage onto the coach..... arrive at the hotel and leave luggage at concierge and off you go anywhere you want until you are ready to check-in or go somewhere else...
And you DO NOT need to be coming from HKIA ferry service to enjoy this...... any Tom Dick and Harry will be accorded this free service
WARNING: the first ferry from HKIA to Macau starts only at 10.50am.... the last ferry from HKIA to Macau is at 22.00pm ..... make your own decision if you want to use this service if you arrive outside of these timings
The reverse is also possible from MACAU to HKIA ..... first ferry to HKIA leaves at around 8am in morning and the last one leaves at about 8pm
There are other timings but u can check turbojet website or pick up a copy of their sailing and pricing schedule at the ticket counter.
thanks for sharing!
this seriously helps, to those who never used it before.
haha! I'm reading this thread everyday for all the good tips.... Visiting HK & Macau in ard 3 weeks time with family - just for leisure.... Being our first time there, can anyone offer help on how do I go from Kowloon side to Victor Pk... many thks in advance...
Thanks for the recommendation. Where can i find the steamed milk egg dessert?
in zhuhai, walk in rates are about S$50-60+ for a clean nice hotel that is walking distance to border ..... S$80-130 for 5 star but farther away from border
in Macau, S$50-80 will get you an oldish tourist hotel ..... not always in best condition
if in winter time, u can try this one.... very charming
Go www.ctrip.comto check rates both in Macau and Zhuhai
and have a look there for Macau Guesthouses http://www.macautourism.gov.mo/en/info/accommodation.php
MUST TRY is the little food street in Taipa village (tell taxi driver or check bus that goes to TAM ZHAI ) is great......... most popular there is their heavenly Crab Porridge with plenty of crab roe at Seng Cheong ..... thanks Lotusfairy for that recommendation ....that area has a beautiful little museum and LOTS of other cafes
good luck
