hey I did that last year as a junket guest of the Venetian... very easy but NOT round the clock service....a rep from casino escorted and arranged everything for us..... however I did look around to see how to do this on my own next time

Immediately when you get off the plane..... look for transit signs .... signboard says "FERRY TRANSFER DESK" with the icon of a boat

When you get to the ferry counter, buy your ticket AND GIVE THEM YOUR CHECK-IN BAGGAGE TAGS ... they will get your luggage from the luggage carousel assigned to your arriving flight. If you dont do that your luggage will be stuck in HKIA as unclaimed luggage

Buy ferry ticket HK$180 i think .... Get on ferry...... and go.....

Arrive in Macau.... go through Immigration .... and go to luggage carousel to pick up your checked in luggage and grab cab or courtesy bus to your hotel (we were provided a courtesy van Toyota Estima for our party of 6..... hop in the MPV... they check passports and give room keys to us before we even arrived at Venetian ... very very good)

My estimated timing was 2hours when the plane touched down to the moment we laid down our first bet on the Poker table....and 1hr 45mins if you start the stopwatch the moment we step foot off the plane....in HKIA ...... cannot beat that.... unless you take helicopter service ( we were not THAT VIP) ha ha

TIP : Once you exit Macau immigration..... IF you are going straight to one of the MAJOR casinos...... there are FREE coach transfers..... taxi is not cheap in Macau so this can save you money .... you DO NOT need to be staying in their resort or hotel (they just hope you go there and gamble) and no commitments to even gamble.... Venetian has this service plus MANY MANY other major casino hotels.....look for the Bus Stops AT RIGHT SIDE once you step out of immigration building and choose the FREE bus to the particular hotel you want to go to.... so DONT WASTE MONEY taking taxi.... can bring your luggage onto the coach..... arrive at the hotel and leave luggage at concierge and off you go anywhere you want until you are ready to check-in or go somewhere else...

And you DO NOT need to be coming from HKIA ferry service to enjoy this...... any Tom Dick and Harry will be accorded this free service

WARNING: the first ferry from HKIA to Macau starts only at 10.50am.... the last ferry from HKIA to Macau is at 22.00pm ..... make your own decision if you want to use this service if you arrive outside of these timings

The reverse is also possible from MACAU to HKIA ..... first ferry to HKIA leaves at around 8am in morning and the last one leaves at about 8pm

There are other timings but u can check turbojet website or pick up a copy of their sailing and pricing schedule at the ticket counter.

There is of course the very obvious route of just taking the MTR from Kowloon to either Causeway Bay or Tin Hau and walk there.

there is also the one where you take a ferry from Tsim sha tsui to Central, then take a tram from Central to CWB and then take a short walk to Victoria park.

the benefits of the 2nd option is that it would only cost you about HKD$4-5 (can't remember how much star ferry is but tram is $2), and you get to experience different modes of travel!

Its quite an experience, especially if you have kids, coz the next time they will take a ferry in Singapore is when they are heading to Tekong for BMT, and no one enjoys those as much. ;p

hope that helps! =)

Thanks for the recommendation. Where can i find the steamed milk egg dessert?

Hop on a taxi and tell the taxi driver "新马路 喷水池". You will reach the place where all tourist will go. When you alight, you will see a water fountain (喷水池). A building nearest to the road is where you can find the steamed milk egg dessert.

in zhuhai, walk in rates are about S$50-60+ for a clean nice hotel that is walking distance to border ..... S$80-130 for 5 star but farther away from border

in Macau, S$50-80 will get you an oldish tourist hotel ..... not always in best condition

if in winter time, u can try this one.... very charming
Go www.ctrip.comto check rates both in Macau and Zhuhai

and have a look there for Macau Guesthouses http://www.macautourism.gov.mo/en/info/accommodation.php

MUST TRY is the little food street in Taipa village (tell taxi driver or check bus that goes to TAM ZHAI ) is great......... most popular there is their heavenly Crab Porridge with plenty of crab roe at Seng Cheong ..... thanks Lotusfairy for that recommendation ....that area has a beautiful little museum and LOTS of other cafes

good luck

Another name for taipa village is "Goon Ya Kai" in cantonese..this place is where all cheap and good food are.

For egg tart, if you want to go all the way for the best one (some say), go to Coloane and get the stuff from Lord Stowe. Here's a picture of the shop poster

You can take the MTR to Central Station, then exit J2 and walk to the tram station, its about 10 mins slow walk.
For me, I bought the one-way tram plus visit to the Peak terrace ticket @ HK $37, the ride to the peak is about 7 mins. Sit on the right side of the Tram for better view, its quite interesting to see all the tall buildings slanting at an angle of 45degrees :bsmilie:
For the return trip, I took bus 15C back to Central, sit on the left side of the bus for nicer view :)

if your party dont mind a good easy 1-2hr hike on the Peak, there are a couple of routes which will have sections that will take you to spots of the downtown vista view (the ones you see in alot of HK threads and postcards)

If outdoor type.... google Dragon Back Trail ...... its a beautiful walk in rural HK Island if the weather is cool during Oct onwards to Feb/March

oh, not hk meh?

the title is HK/Macau. LOL.Anyway,a peice of advise. If anyone wanna go to the xin guang da dao at 8 to see the laser show, you will be better off at other places. It's damn boring. No storyline like songs of the seas and it's just lights flashing around the sky.

it's been there for humpteen years, so yea

don't waste time there like lamergod said, and maybe go to the peak and enjoy a cuppa coffee instead.

the tram ride also more fun
