Mediacorp Lush 99.5FM DJ Chris Ho apologised yesterday for his controversial on Facebook calling for Singaporeans to be killed.

He had commented on an army recruitment advertisement bearing the slogan: "How far would you go to protect our home?"

Mr Ho had written in response: "How far...? Let's see... I'm with you foreigners! Kill the fckn Singaporeans but not my friends, can?"

The comments had not gone down well with some netizens, including Stomper Tee Seng who wrote in to Stomp about his comments.

Following the article on Stomp, Mr Ho had implied on his facebook page that "not all STOMP followers are stupid', and that there were some 'thinking folks' who had agreed with his point of view.

A more recent post by Mr Ho yesterday however states: "I realize that my post about How far one would go to defend the country has now been blown out of proportion."

According to his post, he had been "shocked that something so far-fetched was taken so seriously and not seen for what it is - a satirical call for Singaporeans to think for themselves and know what's what."

Here is Chris Ho's full Facebook post:

I realize that my post about How far one would go to defend the country has now been blown out of proportion.

I was shocked that something so far-fetched was taken so seriously and not seen for what it is - a satirical call for Singaporeans to think for themselves and know what's what. I think Singaporeans are looking for another Anton Casey but I'm not one. I'm not advocating genocide as all my followers on FB understand, please! You're supposed to chuckle at what's said and understand the satire. The satire that says how come Singaporeans don't seem to know what it takes to defend the country.. so much so that there should be a question asked about it?

The reaction STOMP took on seems not to understand what is satire or what I'm saying.

I will formally apologize here if anyone felt offended by my little satirical remark cos it was not meant to offend anyone at all. Sorry if a wake-up jibe offended your sense of what's right. At the end of the day, I never once denied I am, myself, a Singaporean too.

while he should have known better that no one can hear a sarcastic tone when you're typing out text, i do agree with his statement in his apology that Singaporeans should think for themselves before blindly following others' comments.

Don't give this washed up has-been too much news space. Not being able to express himself properly --- is not to be confused with satire.

Another case of "Mouth Shoot Faster Than Brain Can Think"....

I hope he gets suspension from the station. "Fxxking kill all Singaporean" is NO JOKE no matter how you put it !! Replace "Singaporean" with other national American,Russian, British, Malaysian etc and see which country will see it as a joke. Too many people had tried to get out of their stupidity online post by claiming it as a joke, it's how they feel will they posted it but it became a joke when it back fire !!
