A77: What gives?

Not sure what you are trying to prove here by posting an ISO50 image and expect noise?
why not post a ISO6400 pic @ 100% crop and we go from there

nice macro shot btw

Because everyone else has already posted their ISO6400 crap. Isn't it nice to see what the a77 can do, for once, instead of bitching endlessly about what it can't do?

Oh, wait . . . excuse me for butting into a forum thread about a camera body, the exclusive domain of the naysayers. I hereby exile myself back to the field. ;)

Happy sniping, everyone! :D

well, your post was misleading without telling what we were to look for and no explanation except "Noise, noise, noise . . . and can't crop at 100% . . .

Really? ".. what is that suppose to mean and how does that relate to your ISO50 image where noise is supposed to be lowest?

btw, i still have not seen A77 ISO6400 image post on this forum yet so maybe you can post some?
also, not sure why you think A77 "cant do" ISO6400? On spec, it can do ISO 25,600. Whether it can do it well is another topic altogether

Hahaha classic! :D

hi hi, i tested Sony A77 with a 16-50 f2.8 SAM at Cathay Photo's launch at hotel, it is very very good ! the amount of details was so much that u can zoom in alot and see great details on laptop (matches FF details quality), its accuracy and IQ are very good !

i suspect those folks who complained much noise could be using the wrong way of handling settings or the lens or filter has issues.

tntrue already had the d700 class of camera, so when came to high iso... he should had a very very good idea ..... of the deficiency of the a77.
for sure at 6400 it can't beat the d700....
but then having owned a d700 myself and also the sony a850... noise is really not everything...at iso 1600.... the detail from
the d700 isn't that very good either

Yes. That's what I like about that guy. He knows where he stands.

to add on to what i had mentioned even d700 with pro nikon lens had incredible sharpness at base iso.... there a undescribe feel when using 24mp a850 with the cz lens and have it blown to 100%... beside the sharpness, the detail can be a bit overwhelming and yet a sight pleasing for those who like detail like macro

Please don't exile yourself ! ...people like me on the sideline, seriously considering an A77 purchase DO require inputs from those who are having and shooting with the camera ,much more so than the 'experts' comments who don't own or worst, never even held the camera before.

so far i found rasdeep he trying hard to be fair and subjective..as far as i knw it for hard for people like us who own multiple systems to try convey our message across without appearing too obnoxious or fanboy, likewise over at the other forum i got shoot down by idiots who can tell me straight in the face that no difference in sensor size...even i owned the puny sensor system.. i feel damn sia sway to be associated with the like of those

personally i have owned over a dozen dlsr over the last 10 years so i wont be overly impressed by a new body unless its worth it.. but after some comments later, i've realized that reasons dont matter anymore as people are just blindly going for the latest and greatest.. its all good tho, keep the economy going..

as the saying goes 天網灰灰疏而不漏 a lousy translation would be The Mesh of Justice is Loose but Never Miss。。。look at the mess of the company now with the kind of people they had gangsters and conmen how good can it be?

Im still not getting ya, are you printing football field size print? lol

24mp is good for 40" x 26" @ 150dpi and can even go bigger if needed

usually adding noise is for small resolution images printing large prints cos enlarging caused artifacts, so adding noise can mask off the artifacts.
you actually print larger than 40" x 26"?

I print at 300dpi. This is why I have an A900. :)

Bro dont expect everyone to agree with you.... and dont try so hard to make them we're all adults here with our own decision, Once you aired your comments and no one agrees with you just move on dont stress your self over a camera.

Like me I came from m4/3 so thats why even-though I really like to buy 5n it didn;t appeal to me, the looks and feel is not for me but I never tell anyone here that your cam look fugly. Coz I know you have your reason why you bougth it and who am I to tell you that you made a wrong purchase?

I suggest we all just enjoy photography.
