Hi all,
Need advised from all bro is it worth to get a 2nd hand k10d with grip at 850?

I hv just sold my Olympus and switching to Pentax as my nephew own a k10d and i find the build is very solid and with SR in body too.

Actually k20d is my choice but it's over my budget, and see forum here that k200 is also good. Now i really cannot decide which model to get and need you all for help.

I recommend that you wait till you can afford the K20D first before rushing in.

When do you think k20d owner will start selling in CS? Actually not many 2nd hand Pentax camera selling in CS? Why Ha....?

Huh...must wait very long...or you pray pentax come out with a GP edition, then you will see some ppl selling their K20D :bsmilie:

aya if budget constraint, just buy what you can afford, no need to think so much...the buying never stops anyway so just buy what you can and start shooting...:bsmilie:

Wah Lao, so cheap! You don't want I want man...

Just get it lah, save the money you would've spent on the K20D on some nice LE lenses like the 77mm f1.8 someone is selling in B&S.

Yah i'm getting it soon, you rite might as well save the money to buy good lenses. Thank you pal

2nd hand k10d with grip at $850 is good price. A new one with grip would probably cost $1500. But if you can afford. Just go for the K20D.;)

That's a real good price.

Like others said, you can invest the spare cash on the prime or zoom lenses. :)

Thanks NoMoney for the len info, appreciate your help.

Is there a sifficant different in K10d & k20d? If compare to the olympus e500 camera that i sold off recently, is k10d consider a update and is it better than o?

Well, the sensor is different, k20d is better at AWB, k20d is more customizable, continuous focus fast and more accurate. For some people it is significant, for others it may not. K10d is in itself a very good camera. I can not compare e500 as I will be bias to pentax, (have not owned other brand SLR before) but you must have your reasons to let it go right? Since you have use both before (assume that you tried K10d from your nephew), you would be a better judge.

$850 with grip is a steal... means K10D is only ~$650... better yet get fengwei's GP edition for $1100 if its still available...

Mine is w/ a new friend now ;)

$850 for the cam plus grip is a great price I'd say. Go for it if you don't want to spend too much more on the k20D :)

Hi fengwei, can you show some picture of k10d or direct me to your link to view the picture. Will really appreciate that.

Switching from E500 to K10D, i can comment based on my experience that you will love K10D after using it.

My love due to:
1. Better ergonomics design. This is a big factor for me.
2. More sensible (subjective of cos) "quick buttons" all over the body for split second setting changes
3. Dual dial control. Speed up setting changes along with quick buttons.
4. Cheaper lenses range. Of cos no deny we have a smaller range but increasing
5. Original accessories well made. (Was struggling to look for battery grip for E500 back then)

For that price, I will go for it since it comes with a grip. Sadly, no cash in hand to get it as backup.

Sorry qn again, pentax bro out there can advise where is cheap or reasonable selling k10d battery, SD card (High speed) and the wireless remote?

Thanks for the info, what is the best price in local retail shop for the remote controller and where?

I'd recommend you to get that K10D. SDHC cards are really damn cheap! The official remote costs about $30. Look around CP @ peninsular plaza and MS Color @ AMK. I think that's a nice remote and it can be put inside the battery grip for storage, and it's not unreasonably priced. You can get third party batteries easily, which costs about $30 as well. Original battery costs $60. I feel don't think about the K20D first, buy the K10D and use it till an even newer camera (K30D next year or so?) comes out then decide to upgrade. $850 is damn cheap!!! I bet everyone here who bought it first hand paid 1.4k upwards!
