Haze, I live in Melbourne. So there is no such need for backpacker tour. Can't be much help lor :embrass:

Well, if you are driving, take turn to drive.....or stop by the roadside rest areas to sleep for an hour or two...it is a great feeling.

It is hard to give advise on how to holiday in Melbourne. Coz we all have different likes and dislikes.........

If you are comfortable about driving, then get a car....even for a day. Who knows, you might just like it..........and rent a few more days

Thought your frens got car, They can drive you to countryside lor..when they are not working.

actually i agree with Benign lor.. it's really different when you live in one country, and to actually go tour. depends on personal's agenda i guess (and budget, strictly speaking). becos for me, so long im with good company, doesnt really matter where i go. basically i feel happy staying in a room watch good movies (dvds) and some good food so have to depend on Haze herself now. think we could give her like 1 million suggestions but up to her to decide lor

i saw the thread lah , also dunno wat to reply since i only went to Perth and not Melbourne yrs back. if you go free n easy which i did, abit difficult but quite fun. main idea of holiday is to relax mah. but seriously though, Melbourne is more like urban kind of area, so not my ideal place to do backpack. unless you go ulu kinda places then thats a diff story.

i drink abt 3 - 5 litres of plain water a day... wanted some alternatives during meal times

initially bought freshly squeezed fruit juice for lunch. but 3 bucks is too heavy on my wallet
