So do you want to be a Model?

Do you like to be my model?

Results are only viewable after voting.

btw, this concept done in commercials and print ads before, but don't really work in stock photos, you can sell the photo once or twice, so how would you recover the cost? Hence the joke.

There may be a ready market among aunties to buy your Yandao photos. :)

He does...maybe after he has been through the mk ultra program. Good eye devilry. lol

On a serious note I think Leon's snaps of his two favorite girls are authentic types and very chio bu at the same time. Perfect models for this 'new' paradigm you talk about. Frankly I get tired of looking at tall anorexic hotties...give me sultry voluptuous girl any day and I will buy it.

Here is another for discussion;

You are a stock photographer, you approach someone, lets say his name is Robert.
You ask Robert whould he be interested to pose for you for stock photos, and he will be compensated some money for his time, and both of you agreed $100 for a three hours shoot.

So the shoot is now and every turns out well, Robert sign the model release, received the money.

and you work on the photos, done all the necessary things, photos are uploaded to agency and finally available for download.

after some time the photos have some downloads, and some even appear on banner or advertisement. you earn loyalty from the downloads.

Robert saw his face on advertisement, at first he was happy, but after seeing more and more of his face here and there, he starts to feel resentment, Robert think you made use of him, and he should be compensated more.

So he contact you to ask for more compensation. and ask you to remove all the photos from your agency.

Questions:

Does he entitle to ask for more compensation after the shoot?

Does he have the rights to ask you remove the photos?

That is called a royalty right? If the release said he had a royalty then pay up. If not...tough luck Bob.

On the converse say you get real nice image of Bob without getting release and all of sudden it starts generating mullah. What to do??? :)

Solution send Bob a nice card with an extra 100 bucks and the release form and SASE. Don't say anything about the cash flow...none of his business. :bsmilie:

No to both questions if the model release covers all grounds well.

The model gets $0 even his photo is used on the spaceship to Mar. :)

It is for this reason that stock photograhers are not encouraged to sign a contract with a model for compensation per photo published. It is going to be messy.

Robert should be smarter than what u described of him.

He should approach top model agency and work with big name photographer and get real fame and money.

Why waste time going after small time ones?

Yeah, only dumb photographers do that, and naive models believe in this.

For those have not see a model release before, please go take a look, on the first paragraph of the model release already spell out everything clearly.

and if models ask for compensation as such, shouldn't stock photographers ask model to pay them for the hours they spent working on the photos, keywording uploading etc? and also compensate them if the photo don't sell at all?

it is always hard to ask for release after the shoot, so usually we have a simple practise;

No release, No shoot,

I mean, if Robert is smart, he shouldn't bother going after that small time stock photographer for more money. How much can he get from that stock photographer? $1k, $2k?

If his faces are pasted everywhere, and ppl are liking his looks, he has this advantage to go for product advertising, work with ad or model agency and sign contracts with companies.

Thats how some of today's famous models become big.
