Was in the middle of a shoot when my D70 hanged, had no choice but to take out the battery as the hourglass didn't seem to go away. When I powered up the camera again, the camera was unable to read the card, saying that it couldn't detect any image files.

I brought the card (a Kingston normal speed 1024mb) home and put it in my card reader, about half of the images (I shot in Raw+JpegBasic) were corrupted and had names like DSC[3121.NAF.

Is it possible to retrieve corrupted images with image recovery software? If so, any programs to recommend?:)

why not do a search?

Search for something called DIR (Digital Image Recovery)..
Doesn't help RAW but can salvage some basic..

I still lost quite a bit when I accidentially formatted my card the last time though

Thanks for the recommendation.

zaxh81: I did a search but most of the threads are about accidentaly deleted files, not corrupted ones.

Thanks, managed to recover all the damaged raw files as well. :)

Shucks, was about to offer my image recovery services :sticktong
