HI, i've been photographing for a short while now. But hmmm but i realised, i do not know what should i include in

1. Online photo port folio - Eg what should i include, what categories should i include. What websites to recomment.

2.Physical photo port folio - what should i include, what should i take note

I'm thinking of doing an online portfolio as well. u can search for my thread on the online websites.

As for physical portfolio, you need to make prints that's at least 8R (8*10) or super 8R (8*12). For cheap option, buy a clear folder and put the pictures in.

For both portfolio, i think in general, it must showcase your capabilities. You can oganise by subject, choose maybe 10 max for each type. E.g. Nature, Portraits, Travel etc

i'm very new to this, so my online "portfolio" for now is my DeviantArt account
maybe for the online portfolio, you can try flickr or something ?
and for the physical one, i currently only have 2 8R prints, the rest are just 5R and i don't see them as portfolio stuff, just personal stuff

nemesis32: i shoot mostly portraits now (cause i suck), so it is a must to include all kinds shots ? i mean, like every single one of the categories ?

It really depends on your clients. Some will prefer online while others printed portfolios.

For online, I'm with PBase for many years now. You may like to visit my site for a look. This is not a free site. You'll need to pay for disk space, but I think this is money well spent.

For physical portfolio, it really depends on who your clients are. For me, my portfolio only contains portraits of people, since I'm doing people portraits, such as weddings.

no lah.. if u "specialise" in portraits, then print all portraits lor.. but it should not be all girls in bikini type lah.. unless u wanna join FHM or MAxim! LOL

U can choose some studio fashion shoot, outdoor fashion, some headshots, beauty shots, old man, children, men, women, individaul or group shots etc.

Portfolios should...

#1 Contain only your best works

#2 Be tailored to suit your client. No sense in showing landscape shots when your client is asking for a studio fashion shoot.

#3 Have both an online and printed version (if delivery of prints is part of your services), if not I think bringing along a laptop to meet clients is quite sufficient.
