Macro Questions

Hi. Currently i have a Sony H2 (Prosumer). Is there anyway that i can add a filter onto the ring adapter so as to enable a better macro shot? My main problem now is that the focusing distance when I zoom in is pretty far, as such, i'm unable to take close-ups of insects.

Any suggestions?
