Just my opinion, english players, not many are good enuf n if they r reasonably good, they r over priced! French players r no different, there r not many good ones around as i think the french era has gone...italians r like ferrari,if they r good they r expensive. Spanish players arent renown to being able to adapt to epl, good ones usually end up in madrid or barca. What RB has now done is to tap lotsa youngsters with potential for the future. He has the core of the team he wants, now what he has to do is to build his own team. I think he's almost done, only thing left are a few players to sustain a consistent challenge...unlike the past teams who blows hot n cold,he knows with the yankees backing,he has got to deliver...and deliver fast as i think americans arent a patient lot...so watch this coming season...looks very promissing...if Liverpool can start with a big bang, then i think the season will end well also as Liverpool has this bad habit for being a late starter and that has cost us to be able to challenge till the end...

 we need to get behind rafa and show him our support!!! LIVERPOOL !!!

The most important is to have a good start. For the past few season Liverpool had suffered from poor starts, but ended strongly. No dropping of silly points against bottom teams and must be able match or beat the fellow top 4 teams. 80+ points is no longer enough to win titles.

gained the momentum too late. :sticktong :sticktong

There is definitely a good core of players. Now Rafa have to build around them to further improve the team. We have the players to win the EPL title.

  we can last a longer distance this season.

we might need maybe 2 more players to boost the team. however, the more we sign, is oso good la.

since we're gonna lose gonzalez soon....

think we have 2 matches to build up before we meet cheski

salah, west ham match postponed, 2nd match we meet chelski

Liverpool close in on Babel and Benayoun

LIVERPOOL hope to tie up their double swoop for Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun within the next 24 hours.

Negotiations for the pair have entered a key stage, with the Reds increasingly confident of reaching agreement with Ajax and West Ham.

The arrival of 20-year-old attacker Babel appears more of a formality, with the player determined to complete the switch to Anfield for a fee likely to be around £10m.

Benayoun has also informed his club he’s made up his mind to join the Reds, but talks with West Ham have proceeded delicately from the outset with the valuation of the player a sticking piont.

Progress was made during another day of tough negotiations yesterday, and it’s hoped the deadlock will be broken today.

West Ham want £6m for the Israeli international.
 6m pounds????

go yr hse kopitium ?? hehe:bsmilie:

he is like luis garcia... anywhere anyhow anytime:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

pls lor, at least garcia got some class and truly taiko

i am afraid benayoun will be like bobo zenden, star in a mediocre team like boro, come over, lost all the time, u never realised everytime zenden play, gerrard is helping to cover his arse?

if fowler was a bit more mature during his younger days, i am sure he would have been a regular. probably not selected due to his supposedly not so good image... which is a load of crap. close my eyes can think of so many others problem childs.... bowyer, dyer, loony, aiya, u guys know the list better than me

i think carra always sit on the bench because he can play anywhere across the back four, and is such a good backup. BUt seriously I cannot understand why ledley king can start ahead of him; how ferdinand and terry can start ahead of carra coming back from injuries, anytime carra is also better choice at left back then wayne bridge.....

tat time... there's shearer. there's sutton(BAD BOY!), there's stan call-me-more.
tok-kong strikers such as les ferdinand(he's POWER!)...

then there's fowler.

according to paul arden, one needs to specialise!! thus carra mux specialise! ;p
