Just my opinion, english players, not many are good enuf n if they r reasonably good, they r over priced! French players r no different, there r not many good ones around as i think the french era has gone...italians r like ferrari,if they r good they r expensive. Spanish players arent renown to being able to adapt to epl, good ones usually end up in madrid or barca. What RB has now done is to tap lotsa youngsters with potential for the future. He has the core of the team he wants, now what he has to do is to build his own team. I think he's almost done, only thing left are a few players to sustain a consistent challenge...unlike the past teams who blows hot n cold,he knows with the yankees backing,he has got to deliver...and deliver fast as i think americans arent a patient lot...so watch this coming season...looks very promissing...if Liverpool can start with a big bang, then i think the season will end well also as Liverpool has this bad habit for being a late starter and that has cost us to be able to challenge till the end...

seem like the cowboys loosening up their wallets, maybe they hit a lucky streak at vegas

yeah, agreed we have a very good core group of players and just need more consistency

we must start the season well to gain the confidence. The passed few seasons we lost n draw too many matches.

The most important is to have a good start. For the past few season Liverpool had suffered from poor starts, but ended strongly. No dropping of silly points against bottom teams and must be able match or beat the fellow top 4 teams. 80+ points is no longer enough to win titles.

There is definitely a good core of players. Now Rafa have to build around them to further improve the team. We have the players to win the EPL title.

Bellamy seals £7.5million move to West Ham

West Ham have confirmed the signing of Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy for a club record fee of £7.5million.

Bellamy, 28 next week, agreed a five-year deal at Upton Park after it was made clear he had no future at Anfield following the arrival of Spain international Fernando Torres.

The transfer was agreed on Friday but was delayed over the weekend as Bellamy thrashed out contractual issues with Liverpool.

The Wales captain is West Ham's fourth summer signing and takes manager Alan Curbishley's spending since he arrived at Upton Park in December to nearly £40million.

The deal for Bellamy breaks West Ham's previous transfer record of £7.25million, which the Hammers paid Norwich for Dean Ashton in January 2006.

Bellamy joins midfielders Scott Parker and Julien Faubert plus goalkeeper Richard Wright in signing for the Hammers this summer.

Curbishley had previously targeted Darren Bent and had a £17million offer accepted by Charlton, only for the England striker to reject the Hammers for Tottenham.

 7.5 mil richer!!!

Liverpool close in on Babel and Benayoun

LIVERPOOL hope to tie up their double swoop for Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun within the next 24 hours.

Negotiations for the pair have entered a key stage, with the Reds increasingly confident of reaching agreement with Ajax and West Ham.

The arrival of 20-year-old attacker Babel appears more of a formality, with the player determined to complete the switch to Anfield for a fee likely to be around £10m.

Benayoun has also informed his club he’s made up his mind to join the Reds, but talks with West Ham have proceeded delicately from the outset with the valuation of the player a sticking piont.

Progress was made during another day of tough negotiations yesterday, and it’s hoped the deadlock will be broken today.

West Ham want £6m for the Israeli international.

yes Benayoun a winger?

alan smith come back from long injury, play at center of the park at Manu, but McC ask him to play in front to solve england's goalscoring problems... really CMI

think if it was possible, he may just pick the entire Man U to play for england

haha!!! tis one true lor!

recently marseille signed our double broken leg cisse and west ham signed our golf player bellamy.

so far so good! albacete or real betis may move in for gonzalez.:bsmilie:

aiya.. i think Steve Mc is still Man U no.2 despite being England No.1 LOL

I really hope carra quit for good. It's frustrating to be not recognised... somehow liverpool players always not well recognised by England coaches.. damn sad.. Even Fowler in his prime also hardly play much for England.. No wonder they always underachieved.

As for Babel.. if only Arsenal to fight with us, we sure win la.. they pokgai after building Emirates. I think they were taken for a ride by Henry.. shd have gotten at least 10m pound more from him last year.

sad to see tat fowler never play much for england.
sad to see jamie carragher suffers the same fate despite shining for Liverpool.

PATHETIC to read that the clown otherwise known as mcC wanna tok to him over his future with England!:thumbsd:
