Is there any difference between built in and external color flash?

Hey there,

As above.

Is it justifiable to spend extra $$$ on the Holga 120 CFN as compared to normal 120 just for the color flash?

Also, how effective is the flash as compared to an external Holga color flash?

Thanks!

In my opinion, if there is not much of a price difference, then get the external flash with the Holga 120N. It will save you lots of trouble if your built-in flash goes haywire as an external flash can be replaced easily.

As for effectiveness, I am in no position to comment.

Hope this helps.

external color flash = more color choices ( probably abt 7-8 color gel you can choose from... can't remember )
internal = white, blue red, yellow

While the effectivness is about the same.
My advice is get HolgaN + external Flash
Can use the external flash on other cameras - FE2 or LCA that you might get in future
Plus if you have plans to get a fisheye adaptor to your Holga.
The Inbuilt flash usually gets blocked by the big FE adaptor in front, while the External flash is alittle higher when mounted on hotshoe

Thanks all for your replies!

By the way, does anyone know where i can get the Holga 120N and the Coloursphere cheaply? :)
