How does fog in lens happen?

Btw... are fungus in camera are only green in colour ???

They are normally white and web-like

My 70-200 f/4 has a dead bug on the 2nd element and two drops of poo poo... Yucks... I was never bothered by it until recently when I started wondering what in the heck the little white dot in the lens was. So I looked through the rear of the lens and eeek... bug and feet and poo poo and all... Do you think the Canon service will clean it up for free when it's under warranty?
