This one gonna be some 16kg+ I guess. Canon 1200L is 16.6kg. This fat monster is that calibre but also got to zoom. Any guess on cost? I think around the US$20-30K range?

2 biiiig problem with your choice, for me at least - 24mm not wide enuf, and sigma got no IS. The focusing speed on the canon is faster than sigma bcoz the canon got USM.

Pic size too small to make any judgement. He oso use mostly f/11 or f/9 so no point comparing. I bet the guy can make good pic using a kodak dc240 piece of junk camera. It is the big piece of meat behind the camera which make all the difference. On another topic yah the kit lens suck compare...

Crappy build quality for everything except high end body. Terrible noize in P&S cam compare to Fuji. Low end are build like dog-shite compare to nikon (kit lens etc). This the reason I dump my canon P&S and go with Fuji F30. Almost sell off all my Canon SLR stuffs now after got the D80.

Just print 4.5 x 6" man. Why so worried? I use F30 to print 6x4.5 at the local fuji lab got no cropping prob. Why u stuck on 4R size only? Pic is a pic and 6x4.5 is more pleasing.

G7 high iso noise not dat good. See comparison in dpreview here http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1010&message=20968350 Fuji blow away the G7 for low noize. Why need 10mp? most ppl can manage more than enuf with 6mp. Gonna print A2 size wot? Then get DSLR not P&S like G7. IMHO...

I got the F30 from mscolour in AMK for 599$ with 1gig card and 2 batteries and mini tripot. Dam good camera for the $$$. IQ better than any canon cam in this range. can do iso 1600 man, almost no noise. No need for IS wot? is very compact oso, can fit in my pant pocket.

I choose 17-40L any day. Got luxurious sexy feel and handling. Top class lens. You know it wont conk out. I luv my 17-40L.

Yah, I try at Expo when they had a booth recently, it is way too small even compare to my 300D. Feels like a toy. If I put my 17-40L it is very very unbalanced. Bad design, man! Designed for 2/3 sized ppl or 8-yr olds.

Its not a prob with only the A7xx etc. Your lucky it even has a optical VF. Most P&S only got a big LCD screen at the back and no VF. Just look thru a Oly OM-1 or OM-2 or even your old EOS-3. Now THAT is a VF.

Wot rubbish. 20-35 USM is a v.good lens by any standard. 35-80 is cheap kit lens.

Ppl, digic-3 or 4 or 500 only matter much if you shoot JPEG. If you shooting raw and PP on your PC then it dont matter. I rather have a nice fast cam with clean capture and PP later on. Abt B&S prediction I only have one prediction - my piggy bank will become lighter and lighter :(

D80 price / performance definitely better than 30D. I liked the feel. It is much more solid than 30D at least to me.
