Would there be a street price discount for Lecia? and is there international warranty?

Street price will be slightly lower than Leica RRP but stocks will come in later than Leica store. For Leica Type 109, the perks are you get 3 years international warranty and Lightroom hence balancing the pros and cons, the Leica version actually isn't much more expensive than the Panasonic version which comes with 1 yr local warranty.

The warranty does not apply for Singapore.

This is the part I'm not too sure. I emailed Panasonic Singapore two days ago on this and their reply seems to imply that the warranty covers Singapore. See contents appended below:

"Kindly note that you are require to register your warranty directly to the country that you purchase the camera from.

If there is anything wrong with the set, you may bring the set down to our Customer Care Centre in Bedok for verification and submission of full report to the Country in-charge.
Please note that all claims are subjected to all the World Wide Warranty Terms & Conditions stated on the Warranty Card.

Also, please also note that once the 1 year warranty is over, the Service Fee will be 1.5 times higher than the local purchase."

"Digital Stills Cameras and Camcorders also qualify for a limited worldwide warranty, enabling service to be carried out in countries outside of the EU.

If a product fails during the warranty period, the customer is entitled to a free of charge repair under the terms of the country in which they are staying. This is provided that a valid purchase receipt and relevant limited worldwide documentation is submitted and the fault is one of legitimate electrical or mechanical failure."

I dont think the price of the lx100 will be ard $1500... probably at least not its street price.. Else certainly many will opt for the leica type 109 who offers has more advantages over the pany.. My best guess (and probably many CSers too) is ard $1200, in according to US price. Europe is in fact a more expensive place to buy camera in the past.. Not sure if its still the case..

Yup, think a reasonable price would be around S$1,200. The very max would be S$1,300. Otherwise hard to compete with the RX100Mkiii

Agreed ... anything above $1.2K is tough to sell for a P&S camera

Can I doubt check if D-Lux Type 109 if require repair would be back to Leica servicing centre right, not that lousy and useless Panasonic which simply everything also cannot do? Though I am a supporter of Panasonic but the Customer Service in SG SUCKS BIG TIME!!!

Still no news when will LX100 and D-Lux will be available here? Lx100 is already available in the UK (usually get it slower than SG)and D-lux will be available end of next week.

found out the SRP for the LX100 is S$1199 and will be in shops on the 20th. Am assuming the street price is in the 1050+/- region. Am still struggling between getting a lx100 or the D lux.
