All good things said about rangefinder focusing does not help me to experience 'hit & miss' focusing objects on 90mm and longer lens. So the M240 will hopefully resolve my focusing needs and provide me a more comprehensive range of lenses currently limited by optical view finder of an M9 (28mm to 135mm).


It has been a miserable long wait ever since I have sold my m9 and preordered a M240.
..............................................I can't wait to get my hands on my own Leica M240!

60 in preorder list from Leica store in Raffles hotel in Dec 2012?...My last checked in Dec '12 was only 10!

Any news from anyone on Leica shipping out its first batch of M240s? All I heard was end Feb/ early Mar'12.

My 5 Lenses prepared and waiting for an M240 to complete the kit below:

18mm Carl Zeiss Distagon F4 'FLE';
21mm Super Elmar M ASPH;
35mm Summilux ASPH FLE;
90mm APO Summicron ASPH;
80-200mm Vario-Elmar R.

The photographs of the flower and the boy posted by Jono Slack were the identical 'kodak sensor' look as the images taken by my M9 previously.

I can feel the release date of the M240 drawing near!

Not sure which pics you looking at, but even the full sized JPEG looks incredibly sharp!! http://cdn.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leicam240/jono_slack/low/m3010703_original.jpg can see the inkjet dots on the map. I dunno if it looks 'exceptional', but it certainly isn't lousy esp since it's only jpeg not raw.

the B/W pic of the boy is also fantastic, ISO 2500 but shutter speed 1/250? Haha unnesecery high ISO. Maybe next year can upgrade my M-E to M240. Hehe

Not only about fashion, but this is extremely limited set with titanium limited lenses that will appreciate in price.

If you are considering M9, welcome to the club! Lots of fun and learning to use a real rangefinder!

Last I checked with a SG dealer it was about SGD10000. Way too expensive compared to US.

It's 10,230 SGD in sg Leica boutiques. Earliest launch date is March.

In Asia, Leica cameras are priced higher than US. Almost on par with EU.

I purchased the SF58 Leica flash for less than SGD$900 in US last June which retails for SGD$1200 in SG & TW.

As for M body, due to over demand, I am unable to do the same off the shelf purchase when I'm in US this year,...so no choice to pay for the extra from SG.
