Scores of angry DBS users took to sites like Facebook and Twitter to voice their displeasure. Said Kenneth Ip on Facebook: 'The whole darned DBS network is down. Including their credit cards and ATMS. I almost got stuck at the gas station!!!'

A user of the Straits Times citizen journalism website STOMP, identified as 'rockaroundtheclock', said: 'I forgot to withdraw money yesterday so I tried today but all ATMs were out of order so I had no breakfast today... who will compensate?'

Others even demand that DBS should be penalised for the service disruption. Twitter user simontay78 said DBS should be fined, while others threatened to switch banks.

Maybe they have cash flow probs and need to freeze cash movement for turnover... so stage a system down loh... conspiracy theory... hee hee

Lol... Not sure about this But this morning, When 7-11 buy kokocrunch and milk. When over and the cashier kept swiping my atm card. keep swipe till she said, my bank has zero balance... Bo pain use cash. ZZZ

Haha. Angry forwat? If angry then dont open saving account lah. Put under pillow then forever wont have this problem. LOL.

The day before i withdraw $500, stupid ATM all dispersed $10. Then next day all ATM down.

I think is because government give $200 then everybody press until the ATM down.

Maybe they were trying how customers will manage and survive if such a disaster actually happens due to some terrorist activity or act of god.

Now we know, what are the side-effects of putting all our eggs in one basket.

Remember to have backup bank accounts and diversify your investments.

Joking aside, sometimes, being too demanding is not a good thing. As an engineer, I can really understand those who work long hours just to make the system up and running. People would never remember, never praise nor thankful of his hard work in making the system operational for a long period. But once there is a down period, everyone started blaming him.

So different from what my cousins gone through when they were teens in the 90s.. :sweat:
