Just like what I read from some review, basically u can't/difficult to use flash underwater. The flash will causes a lot of flash back (is this the right term?) from the particles in the water.

I did not spend time in tokyo, was in kyoto for work and there's only Bic camera there. After tax free, cam is 36000yen, 2g m+ card is 3971yen. Not sure abt akihabara prices. Bought 2 extra batteries from ebay for abt usd$12 for both, and working great (as of now ;)

Hi Guys,

Is there a underwater housing for 790SW?
I am looking for it, not sure where to buy it.
Any one able to advise me? ;)

Just bought this camera yesterday from Courts at $599. Checked with MScolor and they offered me $560 but with nothing else.

My bro know the guy there and got a great deal.

1 Free screen protector
1 free additional original olympus battery valued at 51.
2 free XD 2GB cards.
1 original olympus camera pouch.
1 Camera cleaning kit
1 free Alcatel digital phone

going to bring it to Tioman for underwater shoots..

Anyone tried taking U/W shots... still figuring out what to get for U/W photography!

Me! Using 1030SW. Very good experience. The camera is actually built for it.

You will enjoy it! But make sure you tie it to your arm properly when going underwater. It dun float!!!

Haha, you enjoyed the camera and what it can do for you, right? Of course its image cannot beat with some of those well known top quality compact on land. But who cares, when it's down in the sea. WAHAHAHA!

LOL...the first thing I did when I arrived on Tioman was to get myself into the waters and test the camera and it is really more than what I expected it to perform. Had a good time underwater!:D

Just got this baby, haven't have a chance to try it in the water yet. But something I dislike that the video mode at VGA (640x480) 30fps can only record up to 10 seconds???......Just find that it is stupid!;(

Just curious, is this normal for the 10s thingy on PNS?

I tried mine on max resolution and it can last 30mins each video.

Strange! Which means u did recording for (640x480) 30fps for 30mins.

According to the specs, it read (640x480) 30fps for 10s and 15fps for 29mins.

LOL...wait a min.....which has the best resolution? 640x480? or others?

Below info from DCresource

Movie Mode

The Stylus 1030SW has a pretty good movie mode. Assuming that you've got firmware 1.1 or greater, you can record video at 640 x 480 (30 frames/sec) with sound, for up to 29 continuous minutes. Do note that a Type H or M+ xD card is required for this. A 1GB card holds just under 9.5 minutes of video. To save memory card space, you can cut the resolution (to 320 x 240), the frame rate (to 15 fps), or both.
