Both Suthep Thaugsuban and Abhisit Vejjajiva claimed that Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is corrupted, etc. Are Suthep and Abhisit better or come clean? They know themselves.
All these people are fighting for their own benfits and not by enlarge of the Thai population.
Spoken to a Thai friend who has good connections in Thailand told me that Thaksin was removed from the office through a coup because the top guys became worried about his rising power. It is difficult to tame a tiger. The coup was also supported by the Royal family. The army also chose a good date where Thaksin was outstationed so that he couldn't do anything to stop the coup. In short, Thaksin was removed due to political motivated.
Prime Minister Yingluck was too eagered to amned the amnesty bill which gave a good "excuse" for the oppositions as a tool to start the protests. If her intention is to help her brother to return to Thailand through this bill, then she has indeed made a mistake. Her brother Thaksin is well connected not only in Thailand but elsewhere in the world. She should buy time and run her current government and shows the results to the people that her government is good such as economic growth, building infrastructure, education, health care and most importantly bring down the poverty ratio. Once you have the full people support, no other political party can do anything to you.
Thaksin does has a last trump card, i.e. he has a very good relationship with the King's son. If the King passed on and his son takes over as the new King of Thailand, Thaksin may have a chance to stage a come back.
