I like the 100mm f2.8 macro

I wanted to start shooting insects, but found out that macro wasn't my cup of tea. So instead of selling it and lose money, I used it to shoot human head shots. Love the results :)

Yes, the 100 macro can be an excellent portrait lens.

The 35mm on FF is great for environmental portraits. Otherwise on FF I would prefer the 85L.

on apsc with 35L...

at wide f/1.4 it is terrible easy to get misfocus head/portrait shots..

For the required depth not to misfocus that easily, i usually set to f1.8 or f2.0 to ensure adequate DOF.

With all the positive talk of the 35L, I must rent this lens and try it out for myself.

I have a 35L... No zoom , paired with my Mark II most of the time.

No regret

35L...my only lens with 5D mk iii

Love my 35L on both my crop and full frame camera. Excellent results.

The 35L is great for almost everything except birds, bugs and blackholes.

135L F2 . is the best portrait lens canon has. if the room is tight then go for 24L F1.4. u cant go wrong with that

35L with my 5D3, though I just bought the 35L, I love it, love it and love it!

Eventhough 35L with my 5D2 also love it, lick it, lust with it...

I'd have bought 35L if I can convince myself it will be regularly used, after all it is not affordable. I used 35 f2 and I find that it is excellent for taking portrait with inclusion of the environment. I could see it as an ideal lens for street photography.
