I'm serious you know, I've been looking into printing costs and whatnots.
been bouncing around a few ideas for a journal/magazine for awhile.
I'm sick of just seeing japanese or american or european pictures...why not pictures of singaporean women in local settings. celebrate the singapore woman. maybe I'll feature some men too (no jocks please....), but I'll ask someone else to shoot them. I'm more attracted to women.

anyway back to the topic I think that erotic photography is abit flawed in that most erotic photography seems to try to hide the fact that it's really about the sexual instinct, having a nude in black and white with contrasty lighting is really missing the point about eroticism...it should ignite your groin first, rather than make you think "oh nice lighting! nice form!"

There's alot of erotic photography in Singapore actually...go look at the lianhe wanbao.the women are clothed but the pictures and text go together to make you undress them mentally.

i think we got to differentiate an issue of photographic appreciation versus an issue of morals. i'm not trying to start a discussion of whether pornography is right or wrong, and if someone here has any sociomoral, cultural or religious reasons to be against it, i will respect them.

i'm just wondering the attitude of photographers towards that little world for our own reading, discussion and appreciation. that actually may become more and more an issue as our camera users are getting younger and younger, and often richer too.

actually it depends on the nature. sex runs from health, art to social issues. if books exist teaching people where and how to visit prostitutes, i will pity the wives. but as just erotic pictures as in for photography, it is really far fetched from causing such social issues.
