Use of FL filters in taking X-rays films

Just wondering if I still have to use FL filters to take X-rays films off the flourescent box as most digital cameras have the ability to change the white balance settings.

Will I be able to PS the picture after taking it if I leave the white balance on auto?

FL filters are used to improve colour reproduction. X-ray films are monochrome (please correct me if I'm wrong), so using these filters is pretty pointless.
