ST-E2 to trigger studio strobes??

How do we get the ST-E2 infra-red transmitter to trigger the studio strobes correctly?

The ST-E2 is on ETTL mode permanently, its pre-flash (even in the absence of 550ex) triggers the strobes.

Anyone?

FEL. fire the pre-flash and trigger the strobes. wait a second or two.
Fire the shutter. should work.
