Silica gel packs in Camera bag?

I'm wondering if anyone put silica gel bags in your camera bag, i know it does not really keep the humidity low but i think some how it helps? I put 2 packs inside, will it affect anything?

No point putting it in. It will absorb the humidity in the air, both inside and outside your bag, faster than you can say "mom I just put gel packs in my bag!".

Hmm, if you know it does not keep the humidity low, then in which other areas is it helping?

My take is don't bother yourself with the gel packs, ziplocs and the such..
