Ricoh lens cover for Lx3

Hi all just wondering if you guys think it is recommended to get the ricoh auto lens cover to use on my Lx3. Shop i went to told me there'a risk that the cover might spoil the track.:embrass:

u need to know how to custom it with sticky tap so that the thing will automatically open and close together with the lens.

generally, the problem is once u fit it in, very difficult to take out. its a very tight fit

Besides the damage to the treads, the other downside to the cap I think is that it offers less protection compared to the original cap. Protection against dust mostly, cos there are gaps between the three flaps.
