Photo Sharing from X-E1

Yeah, I know what you mean. But to me it's much easier and faster to adjust shutter speed w/ the rear dial instead of the speed dial on the top. But I just don't want to dig into menus to change shooting modes.

Besides, most users like me would shoot in Aperture Priority (Av) mode anyway. We are gonna set the speed dial to A, and won't touch it anymore. It's like waste of space, better use it for shooting mode dial.

Since getting the X-E1 more than 2 months ago, not once have I ever used the speed dial. I always shoot in Aperture Priority mode.

Only time I ever use shutter priority is if I want to do panning, but I don't fancy doing panning with the X-E1's unpredictable AI-Servo (or equivalent). No doubt the speed dial adds to the retro styling, but perhaps something more useful could have been put in is place.

Thoth, where did you shoot it?
Nice colour and bokeh.

Hmm.... Not so difficult to change shooting modes.... Just switch both or either dial to A or just set for full manual control. Isn't it? :)

I find shutter speed dial useful at night especially since X-E1 defaults to 1/30 shutter speed in low light. Althought the IS works well, 1/30 too slow for moving subjects....

Nice shots, Simon.

Seems quite a few Pentax users got some fuji cameras too, or even jumped to this new XE1 camera :)

I played one for a weekend, really nice camera. The only thing I don't like is the shutter speed dial which is completely waste of space IMO. Should replace it with a mode dial like the one on X10.

Bro Fw .... I always love ..... Fuji (& Pentax) .... you knew it ... haha . Sold my X100 so got addition fund to fund a Xe-1 .

Current Xe-1 firmware not still cannot set min shutter speed , hence a bit diff to shoot at AV mode with auto ISO . So now still stick with TAV mode . But Xe-1 IQ really amazing ... was a level up from X100

The look wide open is certainly 'unique' and very different from modern lenses.... Personally I prefer the look of the XF35. :)

Am still keeping my X100 though. X-E1 IQ is slightly better but somehow the X100 feels better to shoot with and it is quite a bit smaller.....

As with Thoth's obsession with glow ;), is mine with my X100.

Cheers! Keep the pics coming.

Tks for d kind words. It's quite versatile lens as shooting wide open n stopping down gives totally different looks.

D XF 35 is a great lens which I will use when I want to have a modern rendering n clinical sharpness.

X100 is more stealth n compact carry around. Great for street shoot. Post more of yr shots too ya. Thanks again.

More shots from yesterday's China Town street shooting...
