Thanks Creampuff, Neon, Pinholecam and Lawrence for lending me your lenses and others who shared their knowledge with me, it was good outing. Tried the FA50 macro, 50mm f2 and f1.7 and the sigma 17-70mm macro that day and this picture was shot with the 50mm macro.

NP bro, nice meeting you btw i like your nick name..:hung:

Nice shot. I like the lower angle its shot from. Do share more.

lawrence, i love the bee in flight shot! :)

I'm curious about those diffuser thingy many other photographers were using on the on-camera flash (a lady even had a DIY one made from translucent milk bottle).

Anyone has tried this? How are the results?

Being new to macro, I opted for a shoe mounted flash with a bounce card to direct the lighting to the butterflies. This seems to be inadequate, since I was losing too much light with the flash directed up. It took up lots of flash power as well (probably 1/2 pwr) which resulted in some missed shots as the flash was recharging.

Some butterfly shots:

So much to take.
I didn't want to stick to the F100/2.8 for the whole photo shoot. Took this as a chance to use the M85/2. Most of the close ups done with M85/2. Macro type shots F100/2

Some location shots. Sigma 10-20mm.
I gave up the idea of shooting more with this lens rather quickly :) (too many close ups/macros to take)

Don't just look down. Look up too..

Hi Lawrence,
 for your "Flight of the Bumble Bee"....

Wah! Macro overload. Since I anticipated this, I went ahead my my usual street/ abstract/documentary shots. (Ok, it's because my Macro skills are non-existent. Flower bokeh can only keep me entertained for a short while) ;p

Lower quality due to Photobucket source. Flickr still giving me problems. *Sigh*

My Only Macro Shot

It's more of a bokeh test for the Cosmicar 70-200/4. Seems pretty good to me.

Does it still count as Macro if I use the Sigma 10-20?
