But I can see all those aunties shooting happily with their crappy hand phone and PNS lei..

All I want is just to shoot a composition like -- she's staring out thru the MRT door, with an expression of making a thought?:embrass:

Cannot meh....just 3 days ago i saw one photographer with medium format cam taking wedding couple pic at Expo station....

Well.. I did it n dun find anythin wrong w dat. Anywayz, so s my conscience is clear, I'll do it. But of course not when there is a sign or e law has stated clearly dat itz not allowed.

I got stopped too. I was merely testing out lens during a transaction with a fellow forumer. They even got some head security or dunno what to talk to me and delete my pictures.

Wow ! i guess the medium format guy must hv gotten permision before the shoot.....

I think I will still give it a try. and be fast..

Cause I don't want to miss the moment..

The officer who got me to delete my shots asked me to write in to SMRT's public relations office to get the permission before shooting.

Anyway, it would be nice to write in if working on an assignment.

sigh... check with the officer.. she said NO!!!

Any way I'll still give it a try this coming sunday. a quick one.

Hi All,

Anyone can tell me if I take my friend's photo in the MRT, is it ok?

I had seen people using their hand phone or PNS to take picture, but seldom see people use DSLR to shoot, any idea?

DoI need to go and apply a pass or what?:dunno:

Haha, kennysia had an experience taking photos at cityhall mrt. Read about it here: http://www.kennysia.com/archives/2005/12/cannot_take_pho.php

i was taking pictures outside of City Hall MRT and a SMRT personnel came and chased me away. i was taking a shot of the Raffles City signage and the escalators lah.

I think so far looking at what's been written..they should change the title for this security position to Anti-Photographer Terrorist....opp.. I mean Anti-Photographer Security. :)

Today I walking in dodby ghout mrt... I saw 2 person holding a video camera and a pNs camera shooting away ... Their actions were so obvious....

Weird thing is their shots seems to have no point of focus..... just shooting. And They are not stopped by the security people even though they are so near the control station...

I dont think they got any permission to take shots... :nono:
(If they have permission bu hui anyhow shoot ba ... )

I think in many places especially in buildings ... u cant take pictures...

i was stopped when i wanted to take the beautiful interior of Park View Hotel...

and also one grand furniture shop called Meroni just behind Somerset. They didn't allow any photos of any of their stuff..

What if a horde of us go together and suddenly take out our camera and steal a shot in the station then run away after that....

cause of terrorists attack
they are now more particular and tight on the security, afraid u are a terrorist, wanting to take photos of possible locations of planting a bomb or smth

hopefully the terrorists dunno how to use internet and go streetdirectory.com to find the images

http://www.streetdirectory.com/images/preview.php?imgid=11249531940827&locid=85602

now they dont even need to take photo themselves!! can have clear photo of MRT station from outside to inside...and even the bird eye view of Yishun MRT which almost became terrorist target last time.

http://www.streetdirectory.com/images/preview.php?imgid=11251165210000&locid=138248

Complete with colorful maps including driving direction, distance to nearest bus stop and best of all, it is free!

Other than photo of MRT stations, they can also find images of buildings in singapore sorted in alphabetical order
