But you should be glad that he drops in a comment. Different people teaches in different way.
Take a look at here and think a little about how different is the pictures over there.
Are there any story behind the shots?

there are. just that they're so much taller than the local girls we're used to... that we think that their assets are small :bsmilie:

Watch out for your backgrounds. They are messy. The lamp looks like it's coming out of her butt in some of the shots.
Are you trying to portray sexy? There is nothing sexy about this series. Just some girl in her underwear lying in bed. I wish it looked dirty, slutty or angelic.

Are those glasses just frames without lenses? Frames without lenses just look.... well... dumb.
Don't want reflections in the lenses? Basic physics that you learned in high school.

The entire shower series is a nonstarter. Her posing is says "I'm getting paid to do this so I guess I will."

You need to communicate with the model, tell her what you want her to express, but you need to know what you want her to express. In all your shots and in every shot I have ever seen of this model she has the same expression... Blank.

Do you want to seduce the viewer with your pictures? Seduce the model with the camera.

Interesting the way you put it...

I don't mind shot with people in lingerie if it is executed nicely as mentioned on my first post.

There is a nude pictures but there are naked pictures.. To many there is no different. To some there is a fine line differences.

Anyway... Perhaps just my worthless point of view for many.

You are right about...it's how people look at it.

Sometimes in life one have to live with it that everybody's poison is different. For me, I really don't get why this is considered dirty while the others with all the ditzy fairy in lingerie or body paint isn't.( not pointing at any in particular )

But what really rile me is your reference to "people's daughter"...that's a tat personal...and off topic, judgemental...I am opined that one should not judge regardless of profession.

Bro, nice shots. Keep it up and hope too see more of your posting. Unfortunately, I am not able to give any suggestion but I personally feel some of the shots were great.

We all have different views and that is why this world is interesting. Can't imagine all the photos look the same.

a couple of comments, more of a question really, since i am a newbie (having started this year) and still learning:

a. Are the model eyes Post-processed ? Some of the eyes aren't consistent.

b. Lingerie shoot has many sub-types, there are the glamor type (for Vic Secret), the pseudo-porn (Bettina Rheims), the serious type with other messages (Helmut Newton) etc etc . What has happened in the past few years is the concept of the Mei-Mei type, part cute part pr0n. Your bed pictures reminds me of the Mei-Mei type of lingerie shoot.

However, your bathroom pictures, if done in black and white, add in alot of grain can be very artistic.

if you do not mind, i modded your picture, i think you'd agree the effect is very different now, wouldn't you agree ?

they still look like snapshots... but in B&W. not as interesting as the ones in color

to be entirely honest.... and I am not sorry to say this.

I find the whole idea of shooting so call "model" in lingerie in hotel room is wrong unless there is a specific reason to do so. However, most images that shown has done nothing but degrading the subject.

If you have to do it, make sure you spend time to get a couple of ideas correctly without making the images looks cheap and kinky.

Sorry for the rant... but this is unacceptable in my book.

For in these genre photographers thread the line between Art and Porn/Vulgarity.

And - even Porn can be artistic.

One of my inspirations is actually some obscured Japanese softcore porn photographer from the 1980s. To make porn artistic - I gotta salute him.

Unfortunately, most of the lingerie themed organized shoots are far from art.

If its not organized shoots but the photographer's own work, then one must be sure to have a very solid, well defined concept and message behind.

I urge you to examine works of known boudoir and fine art photographers before reattempting shoots like this.

I've joined a couple of photoshoots organised by these organisers, but i stayed to fashion. At my level, i feel that it is something that i can manage and even then, i'm still learning to compose properly and to handle my whitebalance (Everytime i opt not to use my auto-wb, something goes wrong with it).

I stay clear of lingerie and nude shoots for a simple reason - I have not figured how to get the model to pose and compose properly, without making it look dirty and cheap. Yes, I envy the works of victoria secret ..

TS, i think for certain shots, like 1, 2, 4 and 5 (if i counted correctly), you cut off the wrong parts, and in some shots, you could put them off the centre. For example, in #3, you could try framing the subject towards the left, and avoid the lamp i guess. Not sure if the pros here would agree but that's what i feel. Nice attempt though. But try a different model next time. If you search for her photos, you'll realise in most, if not all her photos, her face looks the same.. and I'm not talking about 5 photos, there could be tens or hundreds of her lingerie photos online.
