Mee Rebus / lontong good!

wow.. mee rebus, lontong...

i think you are in a different kopitiam altogether.

i am in this place called Earth kopitiam............... :dunno:

I think you missed on the famous Laksa, I heard the history of this dish goes all the way back to WWII period.

Some of the Laksa lover swears by this dish and they will only eat Laksa when they go out.

oh yes, laksa...

i heard this girl called Hannah Claire-Bossini used to eat the laksa a lot on the street.. for some reason, she didn't like to eat it in the usual places..

she was very good at eating this laksa.. last time it wasn't famous, after she eat it so daintily, everyone suddenly want to buy.......

actually, i do not know why this laksa is good.. there are cheaper options like Yang rou tang , Vegetable soup... that are way cheaper and do the same thing.. even take the same seasoning inside the soups..

i think it is because the laksa is red.. people feel proud and auspicious when they use something red. :)

anywyas, i cannot afford the laksa.. please give me cheaper option that is less atas. i am a poor student.

These stalls some very 'lao gan' one. They charge you high high for your food, but ingredients give lousy one.
Some will ask you to add additional ingredients which you don't need, like add 'dao gay' to your Naan, then charge you extra for that.

Sometimes they see you newbie first time eat kopitiam food, they will also jack up their prices

i want to gather more opinions before i buy my food. never mind that eveyrone will tell me they eat different things. it is just quite fun to chit chat with people.

Glad to be of help, if any.

I understand how it's like. I was like you, didn't know what to eat. I asked, and people got angry and scolded me.

Luckily got this nice person tell me Nann is nice. If not I don't think I would have eaten anything.

Now I only eat Nann and am convinced it's good, just like what the kind soul told me. I'm very happy now. :D

i ask my wife eveytime we dine out and she will say "u can either eat sh*#, or give me money , i go buy and u will eat what i buy..." :bsmilie:

you need to buy food for your wife too...

but her food is from different kopitiam.. there got tiffany cupcakes, bvlgari bakery, etc :bsmilie:

i think you should venture into this kopitiam.. at bugis there.. called Simi Lao Sai kopitiam...

there is this store that is run by people that are different, they don't smile so much, but they don't vary price, give one price means is good price.. :)

that store is called Oriental Pancakes. good stuff!

i am only a small kid.. very young, plus i am so noob, i will never be taken seriously.

i heard that there is this very good photographer who takes self-portraits.. a lot of people love him... can you tell me what brand he uses? if i use his camera, i will be loved too. :)

i think his name is what... quite close to Sian.. i cannot remember...

I think her name starts with J and she uses Nentax kamera. :bsmilie:

i heard there are a few stalls that just also take away the noodles from the Char kway teow, and then if you ask them why your food is like, just tao gei with 2 cockles and oriental sausage, they will say.. "oh! it is like that, if you want the noodles in your char kway teow you have to pay more!"

that stall is what Worldlove Charkwayteow Centre.. also got Big Pork charkwayteow doing that sometimes.

i like simple Hor fun, it comes extra large for only $1.20. (me very hungry sometimes) most times it's just plain no colouring at all.

but sometimes have to try different recipes to get varied results.
