thanks dennis. the camera looks good. Looks like i will benefit from the improved WB accuracy because that's one of my main problems (besides photos being out of focus!) For comparison, can you take the same image using the K100D? that way we can gauge the difference...
thanks :)

i think the k100d wil render the scene yellowish in auto wb :bsmilie:

I think so too but let's see the comparison.
From the image, it looks like Denni's shots were done under incandescent lightings.

I was at Shriro today and took the test shots there. You can bring your own camera and make a comparison there.

art2d2, yes kena poison already. :bsmilie:

Any news about the 35mm Macro, Denis?

k20D body price is quite similar to that from Amazon, which base on 1245x1.4 = 1743...very tempting, especially when fengwei mention the AF speed and the ISO... quite upset with k10 iso.. hopefully there will be some firmware upgrades to reduce the ISO noise.. well, K20D.. i will pass and wait till maybe K30D.. not now for me...saving up for something else...

Have already juz gotten 16-45 to replace my kit lens...
Now I'm gunning 4 55-300mm to replace my 50-200mm..
As for K20D mayb i'll wait awhile hoping the price to drop then upgrade...

Hi Fengwei
Can you elaborate on the improved WB?
I noticed on the K100D, the WB is generally more accurate when I set to autopict instead of "Program" mode but overall, when lighting is orangy, shots come out very reddish.
Congrats to you..must be very painful to have the camera but no time to test it more! ;)
Cheers

I only use Av/M or B mode, never really tried AutoPict or other mode. For me, I like to control aperture and exposure myself instead of letting the camera does it alone :)

As to the AWB, I have the following photos taken by K10D and K20D w/ FA*24/2 at F8, ISO200, JPG, on tripod.

K10D+FA24:

And this one by K20D+FA24:

Note, the far left small character should be pure white. The one from K10D seems abit too cool (greenish), while the one from K20D is slightly warmer (a little bit red tone on the white) than it is, but that's what we want to see under room light, isn't it ;)

I'm holding back till mid year bonus.... $$$ where art thou.....

Nice comparison test done there fengwei..
Frm this we sure can tell K20D performs much more better...
Tks alot...

Really tempting. I have been using my K10D for only 1year over, yet to make full use of it. Hope one day could own the K20D when it price is drop. Maybe have to wait till the day when there is a new model eg K30D come out. I believe the price sure drop or i may else well get the latest model :bsmilie:

Shake Reduction test: Took five shots w/ K20D+DA*200 at F2.8, ISO400, 1/13s handheld. Four of them came out like this (100% cent crop w/ the full image at the right bottom):

Only this one is abit blurry:

Overall I think the SR works pretty well. Haven't done comparison w/ the K10D in this regard. Should be at least the same I think.

The weather wasn't great in the past several days, but we managed to bring the kids out for a while on Sunday. Here are several shots of my lovely kids (K20D+FA31):

 how can buying a Pentax product be considered "something foolish", it should be commended for being a wise choice! Go forth, my padawans, and slide those credit cards quick...;)
Now if you were paying through your nose for the c-empire's products, that's another matter:bsmilie:
