eh, we have not heard this song for a very long time....

but this is not the Italian national anthem right?

btw, you know what used to be the F1 theme song? it's the national anthems of Germany and Italy (played in succession)

Amid all the bloody fuss and ego p!ssing contests, this might be the very last time we're having an F1 GP at Silverstone. It's a real shame.

While I normally find PF1 editors speaking out of their arses most of the time, their excerpt below is indeed worth reflecting on. Looks like Spanky needs to go visit the Nazi hookers real fast to relieve himself:

The FIA are getting very chatty all of a sudden. Well, if they want to talk, here's 10 questions we'd like to see answered by Max Mosley. No deviation, no obscuring the issue - straight answers please.

1. Do you seriously consider that the global success and popularity of F1 is down to the FIA and FOM, or the teams who have invested billions into the sport, not taken billions out?

2. If you are so keen on competition and European competition law, can we look again at the nature of the deal the FIA made with FOM, selling the TV rights for 100 years, seemingly without any other bidder being asked to tender?

3. You have unveiled three new teams to compete in F1 in 2010. These don't include ProDrive. The last time you were looking to add a team to the grid they were the name at the top of the list - is the fact that they have links to McLaren the reason they are out in the cold?

4. Isn't the lack of teams entering the F1 World Championship over the last ten years in any way down to the demand from the FIA to stump up $48m for the privilege of entering.

5. Do you really think the world's sports broadcasters want to see a series contested by Williams, Force India, a couple of GP2 teams, a few sportscar teams and some F3 outfits?

6. Do you think it was a major mistake saying that F1 could do without Ferrari, given that any legal case compelling them to enter the 2010 series will no doubt repeat your words.

7. Are the negative headlines you are creating more or less likely to bring new sponsors into the sport you are trying to protect?

8. In negotiations with FOTA your bargaining position has gone from a budget cap of £30m policed by the FIA, to £40m policed by the teams' own auditors, to £100m in 2010 with marketing*, drivers and key personnel not included. If you're suddenly insisting it's £40m or nothing, surely it's you who's trying to scupper the deal? (And in this system, how many engineers will be doing a bit of marketing during race weekends).

9. Ed Gorman in The Times has said: "I am not used to the Max Mosley style of governance which is: 1. Create a huge crisis; 2.Then stir it up as much as you can; 3. Bring the sport to the very edge of anarchy, and 4. Pull a spectacular iron out of the fire and claim you have won. I don't know. I just find it hard to believe that a global sport and business of the stature of Formula One should, or needs to be, run in this manner. Did no one ever learn the lesson that a concensus-based approach is the best way ahead, especially when you are dealing with public companies?"
Do you think that's fair?

10. You have been described in the press this week as "vindictive, arrogant and wilfull" and are now attracting criticism from journalists who supported your move to cap the teams at £40m. Do you think you may be losing the teams, the public and the media now...?

I dun think the teams will want to breakaway. It seems like its not only the budget that is the issue. They want more money from Bernie. Think it will take sometime for it to conclude.

Well, here endth the hard lesson never to put a Lawyer in charge of a sport, and especially a power crazy, vindictive, old fart with a family history of fascism and a penchant for being spanked silly by Nazi Hookers.

All this while, Mad Spanky Mosley's reason for not negotiating with FOTA has been due to FIA's obligation to publish the 2010 entry list by end of June 2009. Spanky was basically saying due to the deadline, there's no time to negotiate, and if all of you teams can't decide on time, I'll fill the grid in with F2/F3 wannabe teams.

Well, now that FOTA said enough is enough and we're leaving, Mad Mosley is now left with a very spacious grid with teams nobody would bother watching. What a joke of a goat!

And the best part is, FIA will now postpone the entry list to 2010. WTF?!?!?!:thumbsd:

Like it was said in PF1, Mosley can at least not worry about going down in history as the twisted b'stard that loves to be spanked by Nazi Hookers, but now go down in history as the twisted f***er that killed F1. Bravo Mosley, a good service to your already tainted family name!

This season had been most entertaining both on track and off!! It is so disheartening to read about this mess with FIA and FOTA when most fans regard this as a sport. But in any sports there are the politics (eg even in our small country there is this STTA tiff with the China coach).
From a POLITICS viewpoint it would be interesting to see how it turns out. Mosley is really an interesting guy to observe.... he takes advantage of everyone else. Of course that is not new but he does it so brazenly ... as can be seen in his private life.
I for one do hope that the top teams like Brawn, Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, Toyota and Red Bull do start their own race series. I hope that Ferrari and the other big budget teams don't just "posture and pose" as stated by Mosley. Frankly even Bernie is too much of a businessman counting his $$$ rather than sorting this out. It is about time we have more sports than politics (=greed and power) in F1.

Come on Ferrari, Brawn, BMW, Toyota, Red Bull, McLaren etc ... let's start a real racing sports series (more sports and less politics!!)

Red Bull on pole for Santander race!

Button at 6th.... he complains car is struggling for grip.

Barrichello starts at 2nd ... well done.

Webber ..... close 3rd on grid...

Looks like Red Bull is in for 1-2 in British race.

Ferrari .... some where at 9th is Kimi

McLiaren .... Hamilton is giving Sutil a great fight for last few places.

Didn't get to watch the qualifying, but read that Sutil had a crash in Q1, and PS failed to do another run because of that. 19th place...

As usual, let's wait for the car weights to be published.

hmm.. another superbly poor performance by McLaren.. Well done to Red Bull for that pole. Button losing his edge maybe?

It'd actually be more exciting to see if Rubens catches up with Button in the driver's championship.

Car weights after qualifying for the British GP:

1. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, 666.5 kg
2. Rubens Barrichello, Brawn GP, 657.5
3. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 659.5
4. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 658
5. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 652.5
6. Jenson Button, Brawn GP, 657.5
7. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 661.5
8. Timo Glock, Toyota, 660
9. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 654
10. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 654
11. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 675
12. Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber, 689.5
13. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 695.5
14. Nelson Piquet, Renault, 682.5
15. Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber, 665.5
16. Giancarlo Fisichella, Force India, 668
17. Sebastien Bourdais, Toro Rosso, 687.5
18. Adrian Sutil, Force India, 692
19. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 666
20. Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso, 672.5

Has the Brawns starting to lose their domination?
