Hey people care to share, which CF card are you guys using? any recommendation?

SanDisk Extreme III - Actually SanDisk Ultra II should be good enough as 5D2 has a relatively slow frame speed. And with my shooting style, I am not going to fill up the buffer even with a slower card.

But given the price difference between a Ultra II and Extreme III not that much, I got the Extreme III instead.

You have already said it yourself. Those are two most likely possibilities when the camera cannot confirm AF. It should be quite easy to verify if they are the case. Move back a little or turn on the light to see if AF works...
