Does dust or particles in lenses affect picture?

Yes you can if it's under warranty. You should have checked more thoroughly before buying to save you the hassle.

I am quite surprise to see you asking about this in the Sony sub forum instead of the Nikon forum.

I asked in this thread cos I did a search for "dust" and this came up so I tot jus ask for advice, never really think which forum i was in... anyway dont think it mattered cos we shld be one big CS family mah!! :bsmilie:

it doesnt matter... dust affects all brands of cameras :D
 

Dust in lens is no problem, unless you're shooting at f/32 or something.

I swear by Lenspen. I've been using it for about a decade already (1 Lenspen per year). Nothing comes close in terms of results and convenience. Even cleans finger smudges off Hoya filters, which are notorious for being hard to clean.

Zeiss lens cloths do leave streaks, and when I use them, I find I still have to follow up with the Lenspen to get rid of the streaks. I just use them for less critical cleaning, like for my spectacles.

Was just curious cos most people would ask questions in their respective sub forum. Glad that you did a search and found your answer.
