D70s Mirror Lock up

I have trying to use the mirror lock up mode to take photos. The manual apparently says that this mode is specifically for clean the ccd... anyone knows how to use this mode the take photos? Read that its suppose to further help reduce vibrations for long exposures.

You cant. Its only to clean the CCD, the manual is correct.

What you wanted to use is known as the M-Up function and is only available on D200 and D2 series bodies. The Mirror lock up is only used for cleaning the sensor.

To reduce vibration in long exposure, you can try hat trick.
