i'm sooooooooooo close to dealing a new 24-105 @ 1350 from fellow CS-er
but argh! i still can't decide this or 100mm!!!!! :dunno:
go with 100mm lah...
u already got most of the range needed...but no macro....:bsmilie:
so definitely 100mm lor...;p
i'm looking for a better lens (than the 55-250) in the 70-100 range for portrait shots
i've never tried macro before so yeah if i get the 100mm it'll be a double for me..
but i've tried 70-200 @ 100 for portrait.. sometimes a bit too long for me
ur 55-250 also no bad wat...
i believe u often use ur 17-55 most of the time hor?
I say go with the 100mm first...cos
1) cheaper
2) F2.8
3) shoot macro
4) Shoot portrait
5) Good for low light
6) forget liao.. :bsmilie:
yeah 17-55 about 85% of the time...
ok if really gng for macro.. 60mm or 100mm? IQ-wise which is better?
Wei, i thought we getting 24-105mm?i'm sooooooooooo close to dealing a new 24-105 @ 1350 from fellow CS-er

So got your bag from MS?definitely 100mm...longer reach if u wanna go into macro lor..
somemore can use on full frame unlike 60mm....
me got 60mm cos shooting food, hence, no nn the distance.
tried using it to take insect but kinda diff cos nn to go near subj, unlike 100mm allow u to be further....
IQ wise leh...dat i not too sure...both shld be equally sharp...
u got see my crabby pic bor? I used 60mm to shoot de..
i'm going to call and ask for the price for polarizing and star filters. any brands to recommend besides B+W?
i don't think i'll go for B+W coz its too ex liao. Thinking of asking for Cokin star filter, but i've got no idea for polarizing filter.
anyway just doing research and not buying until i've seen the bazaar ba.

anyway, if u into macro shooting, u nn a gd sturdy tripod dat allow u to go high and low...plus those flash for macro...(if u dat serious)
well, if dat is the case, u can jolly well go for a 24-105 and get a 85 1.8 for portrait...
like dat swee swee liao...
hmmm need tripod somemore ah? :dunno:
sorry ah really never shoot macro before
haha like that i might as well go straight for a 85 1.8 instead of 24-105
Technically speakin, u nn a tripod lor...
cos u nn to hold it steady and firm while zooming ur subj mah...(note: 100mm at 600g, 450D at 475g w/out batt)
due to the weight and using handhold u sure bound to shake de...
get a 85mm if u wanna do portrait lor...
well, i can lend u my lens for u to try try....
how abt dis wkend? Let go SSS!
LOL....I'm last...oh man. Haha. CP selling at 1300+ , not bad. Hmm...Wonder how much the 17-55mm costs? Macro Lens is nice. But 100mm portrait is restricting.will probably go get lens this weekend. Haha weight is just about same as 17-55 so not too bad
