i'm looking for a better lens (than the 55-250) in the 70-100 range for portrait shots

i've never tried macro before so yeah if i get the 100mm it'll be a double for me..

but i've tried 70-200 @ 100 for portrait.. sometimes a bit too long for me

ur 55-250 also no bad wat...

i believe u often use ur 17-55 most of the time hor?

I say go with the 100mm first...cos

1) cheaper
2) F2.8
3) shoot macro
4) Shoot portrait
5) Good for low light
6) forget liao.. :bsmilie:

definitely 100mm...longer reach if u wanna go into macro lor..

somemore can use on full frame unlike 60mm....

me got 60mm cos shooting food, hence, no nn the distance.

tried using it to take insect but kinda diff cos nn to go near subj, unlike 100mm allow u to be further....

IQ wise leh...dat i not too sure...both shld be equally sharp...

u got see my crabby pic bor? I used 60mm to shoot de..

i'm going to call and ask for the price for polarizing and star filters. any brands to recommend besides B+W?
i don't think i'll go for B+W coz its too ex liao. Thinking of asking for Cokin star filter, but i've got no idea for polarizing filter.
anyway just doing research and not buying until i've seen the bazaar ba.

Hoya? Kenko?

Cokin you need to purchase the filter holder plus the thread size adapter too but the catch is you can use it with Tianya filters too. That's what some users said. Not too sure about it as I had not gotten one myself.

Still waiting for someone to bring in Marumi so that I can get a good quality filter at a lower price than B+W. ;)

LOL....I'm last...oh man. Haha. CP selling at 1300+ , not bad. Hmm...Wonder how much the 17-55mm costs? Macro Lens is nice. But 100mm portrait is restricting.
