Canon 650D - About to Be Announced

CR is speculating on the imminent launch of the 650D...


They are predicting a launch before the NAB in April.

The digic 5 might be worth the upgrade but I think it's dumb to do a 22MP aps-c sensor. Same like Sony and their 24MP aps-c sensor on a77 and NEX 7.

That's not to say I won't buy it ;p

CR is predicting a 18 mp sensor. In fact it will likely be the same sensor as the 60D/600D/7D.

Everything is pure speculation right now. Nothing is confirmed, but here are some of the things that may be added to the 650D:

- new auto focus feature for video recording

- touchscreen LCD
- built in WiFi
- 18.1mp sensor
- DIGIC 5 (should improve noise performance and overall image quality)

I am sure it will have Digic 5 - G1X already have. Touchscreen LCD for me is a no no (from my nex 5N experience). I would actually rather have Bluetooth than wifi. Then after taking picture can BT direct to laptop or handphone (to upload).
