The only issue with using tyre made rubber bands is that the bands are not uniform edge-to-edge (since the tyre is cylindrical). Sometimes they anyhow cut making the problem worse

can go back cut nicely, for larger diameter the edge-edge difference not so obvious. being slightly elastic with good grip it works well for holding bounce card or foam onto flashhead.

Why not go to any pasar malam stall that sells sewing/tailoring needs. Look for the round or flat type of elastic band for shorts. These are cheap and tough - can withstand even hot water, mild acids and alkalines.

try silicon wristbands...

thats what i used last time... hahahaa.... 50 cents nia.... nike bands at $1 branded somemore.. hahhaa.

I use those 1 inch elastic band use for those shorts that we wear. Quite difficult to find black one mostly white but I manage to find it (maybe its Art friend.... as it was quite sometime ago). Can try spotlight or those sewing shop too. Measure the length that you need then -1 to 1.5 inch for it to stretch for tighness, then sew it. Can put on velcro too if you want.
