Too dark and DOF too shallow. The prawn feeler and the bottom part are OOF and the carrot looks a tiny bit too red to me did u up the saturation?
DOF is actually not that shallow and that is not the main problem.
The main problem with this photo is that it is a backlit light. So some how the food will look dark with no reflector/fill-in.
Show you a sample with some DOF and fill-in.

Sorry for the late reply. This was a 2 weeks promotion at Goodwood Park Hotel with a 2 Michelin Star Chef Reto Lampart during the month of April. He has left already.
