Was going through some shots taken from the S95 when I came across this shot and can't help posting it to share with you guys. A behind the scene shot for #4.

#21 Kjølen, Lofoten.
Interesting rockscapes similar to this can be found on many mountain tops in Lofoten.

#22 Reine, Lofoten.
A very beautiful day in Reine, one of the most enchanting place in Lofoten. The right half of the town seen in the background is actually in the shadow of the magnificent Reinbringen just off the right of the frame.

Thanks! You confirm + chop made the right choice to go Iceland, one of my favorite countries of the trip.

How long will you be going? I strongly recommend a self drive tour of the ring route which will allow you to see the truly best of Iceland instead of just the Golden Circle tour, but do take extra care while driving there especially winter. The high accident rate there is not something to be taken lightly.

I have yet to go through the images from Iceland though I'm also looking forward to sharing them soon as they are looking quite promising from a quick glace.

Yup, any PnS can get good images in Lofoten really. In this case, a 0.3 GND was employed to achieve the end result.

Thanks dude! Go for it and feel free to comment whether good or bad. :)

I hope I'm not too late to give my compliments... I'm really glad you had fun from this trip and took so many photos to show all of us here. Role model for all of us who wants to travel far away to these remote areas but need to train ourselves well first. And kudos that you restrained from bringing heavy camera gears for the trip, relying on just the tokina and fifty mm.

Of course not, appreciated! I hope this can exhibit the other face of Europe which is not just about the Londons, Berlins, Paris, Madrids etc...

Most important goal is to spur the long suppressed desire of embarking on an adventure by many fellow bros here as I only met one Singaporean couple backpacking throughout the trip.

On gears, actually even if I want 'heavy' ones I also don't have...:bsmilie: just got to make the best of what I own. End of day, still glad to have brought the light stuffs.

Nice. Very interesting. Good to know of someone so determined to do such things. Looking forward to your blog but don't be pressurized to deliver haha. Take your time. See you around.

#23 Bunesstrande, Lofoten.
A short scenic boatride from Reine via the lovely Reinefjorden and Brunesfjorden followed by a hike took us to this hidden paradise beach named Brunes, where we saw the sun set just below the horizon and then moved from left to right without setting further. Truly an amazing sight of the Arctic Circle.

Nature aside, we were later told about a tragic incident that had happened weeks before we were here. An American had drifted off the marked hiking route and climbed up the steep mountain just off the frame on the right where he later fell to his death while sleeping near the precarious cliff. The locals found his body few days later after his friends reported him missing. A very important lesson to remind us not to be G.I Joe and disregard rules to do silly things.

#24 Torsfjordtinden, Lofoten.
From alt.180m of Torsfjordtinden for a superb view of the Torsfjorden with the 121m 'bump' Moberget in the middle of it.
Pile of stones stacked in this manner are called cairn, which are used to marked trails. Need a pair of good eyes to spot them to be sure of being on the right track.

#25 Sørvågen, Lofoten.
Exquisitely painted cabins, usually in red with the occasional yellow or blue, sparsely littered throughout Lofoten making the picturesque islands even more captivating.
These cabins are traditional fishermen's shacks also known as Rorbu of which some are available for stay from $240 per night.

#26 Reinefjorden, Lofoten.
Bright green moss lined the coastal rocks of Reinefjorden in Hamnøy.

Thanks for your encouragement (oil), it's readers like you who keep the drive going when the tank starts running low on fuel sometimes.

#27 Nusfjord, Lofoten.
Undoubtedly the most well preserved fishing village in Norway where thousands of fishermen gathered during the fishing season in the old days.

#28 Moskenes, Lofoten.
Spent the last night camping in Moskenes where we would take a 7am ferry next morning back to Bodø.
The awe-inspiring 'Wall of Lofoten' stood solemn on the horizon of the Norwegian Sea as we bid a final farewell to this enchanting sanctuary from our little tent.
