It doesn’t matter if it is hilly slop or sea or whatever… in landscape photography, the horizontal line must be straight … this is the 1st and most important thumb of rule… without which… the picture won’t work.

why dont you just send to canon for a full check. get them to give u a quote and hear their advise then decide from there. If all is well except for shutter dead, i wouldnt mind getting the shutter replace for 200+ then. but if there are other faulty parts, then surely a full replacment will...

effects painting already mention. wall paper is not as diy as painting. what quality are u looking at for wall paper. i might be able to help w selectd design only.

we have similar problems. my max set up is d70/f100 + flash +80-400=heavy. my main problem is stabilizing the gears w a tired hand after a few shoot. hence,i bought a nikon wrist strap n fix ti the camera. with the wrist support, the weight is better distributed. hence far more comfortable...
