Just wondering... would the Nikkors have versions with the distance scale in meter instead of feet? Im just mildly annoyed that I have to do that little bit of maths when I zone focus :P

The only thing you really need to worry about and therefore clean religiously... is if you shoot by/on the sea. The salt spray... eeeks.

we are a weird bunch. while the rest of the world complains about CA, flare, and all sorts of things that make modern lenses not perfect... we love every imperfection in the old lenses. :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

You can approximate the frame on an M8 by using the whole VF window. And just get a 21mm finder for the film M or M9.

Bring a lens that exhibits the glow on highlights... brides make a superb subject for such lenses due to their outfit ;)
