Security researchers find that DSLR cameras are vulnerable to ransomware attack

https://global.canon/en/support/security/d-camera.html Not sure how many uses the PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) communication functions. Seems like some serious security vulnerabilities going on.

advises for constant lenses & camer

Honestly, I thought 18-270 is quite a good all rounder lens other than the fact that it does not have fixed aperture. If you really want fixed aperture, it's highly likely going to be bulky. You may want to consider prime lens instead to compliment your existing lens rather.

    Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 MK II or Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2

If you are not going to make money out if your gears, just go with what you can afford. If the price of both is the same(highly unlikely), I'll go with Canon. That said, I've used the tamrom 24-70 v1 for sometime now.... Still good. If you compare the colors side by side, you will see the...

    Which lens for landscape photography?

If your camera comes with a kit zoom like 16-50, I think you are all set to go out three and take some great photos. Technically, all compatible lens works great with any camera and the results can be amazing depending on how it is used by the user. Personally, I feel that unless you know what...

Does a good tripod really matters?

Would like to point out that some of those high quality tripod are very heavy (even the carbon fiber ones), which the weight of the tripod is a turn off for many (myself included). And as such, it might not see much action as compared to some cheaper ones (these may not dissipate the vibration...

Please own up, you season shooters

When first starting out, it is possible to take a large number of shots and no keepers .. but as you continue to shoot, learn and progeess, the number of shots you take will slowly reduce but at the same time your keeper rate will improve. Just keep shooting. Eventually you will get there..

    Budget Macro Lens Recommendation

it's definitely different from using your phone for shooting...and for the lighting, try not to overload yourself with too much information. Absorb bit by bit. And enjoy the process. Overloading with too much info will stress yourself out. * I'm in the phase where I'm going back to my phone...

    Budget Macro Lens Recommendation

This is when you will need to modify the flash. You can checkout the macro subforum which I think have a post on how to custom make that flash diffuser for macro use. There are many type of the diffusers for macro.. Some for pop up flash, some for external flash. Light from Led is usually...

Use flash if you are talking about the exposure... Extra Led light if you are referring to focusing in low light..

    Budget Macro Lens Recommendation

If you have the option of a macro lens, I'll probably say go for it, but good ones don't came too cheap... There's actually nothing too wrong about getting 2nd hand lens.. Since there might be many of these lens that are quite new because of low usage and letting it go.

Need lens guide for Canon APS-C

You might want to push your iso to the limit (just push it to 3200, 6400) before you want to start lowering it. The moment is much more important than the image noise. Moment > image quality Given the modern sensors, I think it can handle 3200 or 6400. *I was already pushing for 3200 when I...

Need lens guide for Canon APS-C

Nothing wrong with "investing" in good lenses.. But there's always something better out there. Better lenses does come at a price (and/or weight too)
