hmmm, well i was shooting in the forest, the rain was just a drizzle at 1st and then it became slightly heavier, body was kinda soak, should have stopped when the AF started to fail on me though, lesson learned

Might it be the contact on your DSLR mount? Because i had that problem with my 400D because the metal contact was a little rusty but there was no problem on my 7D...
