Just my thots here... Perhaps it's not just the composition here that is not working here... mebbe you could have tried to work from a different perspective... Maybe you could have tried to start by visualizing with the "lights" converging in the distance, and then with your subject...

ya.. thought maybe it'll be nicer if the model looks straight into the camera for #2. Then again, the eye shadow might be less obvious.

Think the cropping may have affected the overall feel of the photo... maybe a 3/4 body crop rather than a near half-body crop will be better? Just my thots... Rgds

Thought the second shot is more "retro-y" and "club-y" with the inclusion of neor-like colors. Personally prefer the second shot. Her facial features are clearer too while her complexion seems smoother.
